Arezzo&Co has for the first time produced a sustainability report based on the international Standards of the GRI version G3.The Arezzo&Co Sustainability Report 2011was published on June 14, 2012 at the CVM and is available on the company’s web site www.arezzoco.com.br.
Adopting the Global Reporting Initiative standard for sustainability reports affords comparability and transparency, while showing the sustainability management employed by the company.Arezzo&Co decided to adopt this standard in line with its sustainability agenda, so as to report its actions between January 1 and December 31, 2011 to all its stakeholders, by publishing an annual report for the first time. In order to confer greater credibility and transparency, the report was submitted to external verification by Insper, Instituto de Ensino e Pesquisa (Education and Research Institute).
Commitment to sustainability
In 2011 the company kicked off a more solid and effective engagement with sustainability, which now formally permeates every single action it takes.Consultants assisted the company with several processes for defining material issues and the gradual inclusion of several socioenvironmental aspects within management, strengthening the participation of stakeholders and defining the private investment to be made in 2012.The company’s principal stakeholders were defined based on their involvement with the production chain and the extent to which they are affected by the business of Arezzo&Co, which always takes into account the opinion of these stakeholders when making decisions, so as to create shared value.
